As tools for strategy development and project management have grown more sophisticated, many larger organizations work with large consulting firms and have extensive in-house capacity for applying these tools to their work. For many smaller organizations, especially non-profit groups, the capacity to apply these tools is still limited. Lift Consulting Services focuses on working with small teams who value in-person interaction and want a better understanding how they can be effective, efficient, and happy.

Our Values

  • Listening begins with understanding different perspectives.

  • Small changes can make a big difference.

  • Happiness and laughter are part of a job well done.

  • A shared vision is stronger than solitary excellence.

Principal Nat Seavy brings two decades of experience working in the non-profit conservation space. Nat began his career as a field biologist, counting birds, measuring trees, and writing reports. His publications include peer-reviewed papers on birds, bats, trees, climate change, fire ecology, and soil. He has worked for Point Blue Conservation Science, as Research Director for the Pacific Coast and Central Valley Group and as the Director of Migration Science for the National Audubon Society.

Over time, Nat’s work slowly shifted indoors and began to focus on how to bring teams of people together to work on conservation projects that engaged diverse groups of partners. Through this work, Nat grew to appreciate that to keep field biologists outside and counting birds, they need to be engaged and invested in the planning and execution of their organization’s strategic priorities. This challenge isn’t unique to wildlife conservation; it is important to every non-profit and business.
